Don't miss the one-day stop of a travelling art installation that welcomes anyone to trade a personal object at the Barter Boat. Trading hours are Tuesday, June 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the lobby at the Center for Missouri Studies. Come by with something to barter which has personal, philosophical, or historical significance. The Barter Boat focuses on objects as a way to tell stories and to examine our cultural. Perhaps, it's a handwritten note, original drawing, or other small object that has meaning to you. All ages are welcome to be part of the exchange. If you have children at home for the summer, bring them by the State Historical Society of Missouri, and share this fun experience!
Then, from 12 to 1 p.m., join us in Cook Hall where artist and filmmaker Desiree Moore will tell us more about the adventures of the Barter Boat and how this collaborative installation by Moore and project partners Anna Elliott and Robin Schwartzman came to be.
Remember to bring an item to trade on June 3 and become part of this unique exchange!
